NetPALS Email Editing March 24. 2017.
Every year each student in 7th grade at Cambridge Street Upper School has an opportunity to engage with members of the STEM community (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) in the Cambridge area.
The NetPals program is now in its fourth year and provides a one-to-one mentor for every seventh-grader in three of Cambridge’s upper schools. It involves, amongst other activities, email correspondence with a "NetPal" at one of the various STEM companies based in Cambridge and provides an opportunity for employees at these companies to give back to our kids who live in a city that is home to some of the world's most innovative companies.
As part of the program, students are required to correspond with their mentors several times over the school year.
We need volunteers from our community to help to assist our students in getting emails to their mentors out on time; any amount of time you can spare will be vital. The teaching staff is otherwise under tremendous pressure to give each student personal input.
We want to stress that any community member is welcome to assist, not just family and caregivers.
Kaitlin Gass, our 7th-grade Science teacher has provided a schedule, with time slots marked with an asterisk indicating bigger classes that would need more volunteers.
10:47am - 11:39am*
11:41am - 12:33pm
1:07pm - 2:00pm*
2:02pm - 2:55pm
